BitFastCopier
Large file copies on a Mac, fast and verified.
BitFastCopier copies folders with hundreds of thousands of files between disks and volumes. On the same APFS disk the copy is instant thanks to cloning; between different disks every file is verified with a SHA-256 checksum.
What it does
Instant cloning
On APFS volumes files are cloned instead of rewritten: the copy is immediate and uses no extra space.
Integrity check
Between disks each file is read back and checked with a SHA-256 checksum.
Dry run
Simulates the whole copy without writing anything and shows in advance how many files will be cloned, transferred or skipped.
Adaptive queue
The number of parallel copies adjusts itself to how the disks are performing.
Conflict rules
Choose what happens to files already at the destination; macOS service files are excluded automatically.
Links handled
Aliases and symbolic links are copied correctly in every case.
